Tracking
Tracking is the treasure-map skill on the finding end, where Cartography is the reading end. Run it where wanderers walk — a mine, a forest, a dungeon — and a successful reading calls out where the nearest one is standing. Carry it to Grandmaster and you read creatures as readily as ground: every one of them wears its difficulty above its name.
What it turns up
- Chance of a treasure map per attempt
- 0.05%

- At Grandmaster
- Every creature wears its difficulty above its name
Track where wanderers walk and a successful reading names the nearest one and the way to him — "Gorm Ashvein is to the North East" — over your own head. Only you see it, and a failed reading tells you nothing.
At Grandmaster, every creature on a dungeon floor and every guardian at a dig carries its difficulty above its name — [Tough], [Deadly] — in the same words and colours the dungeon roster uses. The roster still tells everyone what lives where; a tracker simply never has to look it up while something is walking at them.
